homemade kimchi halal or not?

my Christian friend said to me that homemade kimchi is pork and haram and not allow to eat its that true?

sometimes, it happens like they add some sort of meat, like beaf or pork, sometimes they add shrimp, and also they add alcohol. We we really don't know have they used these ingredients or not. We can't say Kimchi is Halal or Haram. The best way is to read the description on the packet.
